NSW Young Lawyers
NSW Young Lawyers is a committee of the Law Society of NSW, established in 1963. It represents lawyers in their first five years of practice or up to 36 years of age. Law Society members join by selecting NSW Young Lawyers in their LawID email preferences. Its structure includes an Executive Council that meets monthly, regional representatives from 29 regions and law student society presidents from NSW universities. Practice-area sub-committees cover fields such as criminal, family, business, environment and planning, and animal law. Sub-committees prepare policy submissions and free guides for early-career lawyers and students. Subscribers receive the monthly Debrief newsletter. Events include the Great Debate and a trivia night. The Law Society offers free student membership and a free peer mentoring program for student and solicitor members.
