Department of Justice (Queensland)
The Department of Justice is a Queensland Government department. It recruits law graduates through the Law and Justice stream of the Queensland Government graduate program. The stream takes graduates in law, justice, criminology and related fields. It is a two-year statewide program with a permanent position, and it starts in February. Applications for each intake open in August of the previous year. The stream recruits for the department only and is not a practising-lawyer program by its terms.

The Queensland Government Law and Justice Graduate Program recruits for the Department of Justice. It runs statewide for two years and leads to a permanent position. The starting salary is $76,217 plus 12.75% superannuation. Applicants need a degree in law, justice, criminology or a related field completed between January 2025 and 31 January 2028. It is not a practising lawyer program by its terms. Applications for the 2028 intake open in August 2027, and the program starts in February 2028.
