The LIV's annual public speaking competition for junior lawyers returns on 13 August, this year under the theme "Under the Sea." Registrations are now open for both competitors and spectators.

The LIV has opened registrations for the 2026 Victorian Golden Gavel, its annual public speaking competition for junior lawyers. This year's theme is "Under the Sea." The event is on Thursday 13 August, 6 to 8:30pm, at LIV's Members Floor, 140 William Street, Melbourne. The competition winner progresses to the national final. Competitors and spectators can register through the LIV events page.
