Rhodes Trust

The Rhodes Trust, based at Rhodes House in Oxford, administers the Rhodes Scholarship for postgraduate study at the University of Oxford. The scholarship pays Oxford course and college fees and a stipend for at least two years of study. Australia has nine scholarships each year. Six state committees each elect one scholar. The state committees and a Territories committee nominate candidates to an Australia-at-Large committee, which awards up to three more. Candidates cannot apply directly for Australia-at-Large. Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents with at least two years of Australian secondary schooling. Refugees and asylum seekers living in Australia are also considered. Applicants must be aged 18 to 24, or under 27 if their first degree was completed recently. A First-Class Honours degree or a master's is expected by July of the entry year. The round for 2027 entry ran from 1 June to 11 August 2026. Applications reopen in 2027 for 2028 entry.
