A&O Shearman
A&O Shearman is an international law firm with Australian offices in Sydney and Perth. It runs a ten-week summer clerkship in Sydney and a three-week summer clerkship in Perth. Both target penultimate year law students. Summer clerks may be offered graduate positions. New Zealand students apply through the same clerkship path and are recruited on campus in Auckland and Wellington each April. The Perth office also hires legal support professionals for its Advanced Delivery team. Sydney applications follow the NSW timetable and open in June. Perth applications open in late June and close in late July.

A&O Shearman runs a ten-week summer clerkship in its Sydney office. It is for penultimate year students in an Australian or New Zealand law degree with excellent results. International students need work rights for the clerkship. The 2027/28 clerkship runs from 29 November 2027 to 4 February 2028, with a two-week Christmas break. Applications open on 9 June 2027 and close on 11 July 2027 under the NSW guidelines. Offers are made in early September.
