Independent Children's Lawyers (ICL)

Independent Children's Lawyers (ICL) is a national information service about the role of lawyers appointed to represent children in family law proceedings under the Family Law Act 1975, appointed by order of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia or the Family Court of Western Australia. The service is delivered through Legal Aid Commissions in each state and territory, which maintain in-house ICL teams and panels of qualified private practitioners, and it provides resources for ICLs, parents, children and practitioners seeking to become an ICL.
